Profhilo is an injectable anti-ageing treatment made from hyaluronic acid to address skin that is losing its elasticity and firmness with age. It is injected just below the surface of the skin where it disperses quickly and reacts with the tissue to instantly boost hydration.

What is Hyaluronic Acid?
Hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance produced in our body and found in our skin, joints and connective tissue, binds moisture in the skin and aids collagen production.
With age hyaluronic acid production slows and the skin looks duller and dehydrated, with fine lines and wrinkles forming.
Hyaluronic acid is best known as a ‘filler’ and is usually used to give volume to lips or to contour other areas of the face.
Profhilo contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available for an aesthetic treatment.
And due to the development process which thermally bonds, rather than chemically, the treatment acts as a high performance hydrator and not a filler.
Its gel like consistency distributes smoothly and evenly without the formation of any lumps – a potential risk with traditional fillers.
This means it can be used on areas which are difficult to treat with traditional fillers, such as the neck and forehead. Profhilo’s structure also allows it to flow over an extended area to boost hydration and smooth or ‘remodel’ the skin.

What to expect from your treatment
Your session starts with a full consultation addressing your skin concerns and desired results. Our consultant will talk through the procedure and will ensure you are completely happy before administering treatment.
The product is injected into areas of the face or neck.
During this process, you may experience a small amount of discomfort or stinging but we do offer numbing gel to ensure there is minimum discomfort. You’ll leave our clinic pain free.
As the treatment is injected, you may notice small lumps around the treatment area. This is simply the product starting to diffuse across your skin and will disperse usually within 24 hours.
Within a week, you’ll notice your skin becoming more supple and smoother. We recommend a follow up treatment after a month. Once you’ve had your second treatment your skin will look more rejuvenated as it starts to produce collagen.
As this happens, you’ll develop a more youthful, fresh look. Results can last as long as nine months and most clients come back for a repeat treatment at the 6 to 12 month mark to keep skin glowing.

Traditional anti-wrinkle injections work on muscles deeper in the face and are normally administered to the upper face over the forehead muscles.

During the treatment you may experience some very mild discomfort, but we do use numbing gel to minimise the effects. You'll leave our clinic pain free.
